On Audi
Ingolstadt has been the Volkswagen Group's engineering proving ground since the original Quattro embarrassed Group B in 1981. Audi puts the technology in first — all-aluminum spaceframes on the D2 A8 in 1994, dual-clutch transmissions years before everyone else, and a quiet habit of building four-door sedans that run eleven-second quarter miles without making a fuss. The RS cars are what happens when the engineers are allowed to stop compromising. The B-series A4s and C-series A6s carry most of the daily-driver load, and the Q-series SUVs share more architecture than people realize. We pull from all of it — VIN-documented, chassis-coded, ready to ship.
